Therapeutic Massage
$85.00 60 minutes - $110.00 90 minutes
Therapeutic massage (or medical massage) is a term that covers a variety of techniques because it addresses a variety of musculoskeletal pathologies. Massage is very beneficial in promoting healing after an injury or surgery and can be an effective part of the rehabilitation process. It can also help reduce chronic stress and aid in the management of pain.
Prenatal Massage
Prenatal Massage
$80.00 60 minutes
Prenatal massage shares many of the goals of regular massage--to relax tense muscles, ease sore spots, improve
circulation and mobility, and just make you feel good. But it's also tailored specifically to the needs of pregnant
women and their changing bodies, and therapists who are trained in prenatal massage adjust their techniques accordingly.
BENEFITS OF THERAPEUTIC MASSAGE:
If you have been injured by an accident at work or in a car you may benefit greatly from massage
during the recovery and rehabilitation process. You may even find that medical massage treatments
are covered by your health or auto insurance provider.
Likewise, massage can also aid in the treatment of repetitive motion and strain injuries that
our work environments can subject us to and even help you find relief from chronic pain.
Many of our clients find relief from the following ailments:
- Fibromyalgia
- Auto injuries
- On the job injuries
- Carpal tunnel
- Overuse injuries
THE MASSAGE ITSELF:
The exact techniques employed during a therapeutic massage session vary widely based on the
specific condition being addressed. We encourage you to contact me to discuss your condition
and treatment goals so that we can work with you to develop the best treatment plan for you.
BENEFITS OF PRENATAL MASSAGE:
The therapeutic benefits of massage for pregnant women haven't been studied very much. There's some evidence that massage may help people who suffer from low back pain and possibly those with chronic headaches, but the studies weren't done with pregnant women. In any case, massage may decrease stress and promote relaxation, helping you cope with discomfort even if it doesn't specifically alleviate or prevent it.
Carrying a baby inside you changes your center of gravity and puts a lot of stress on your back, neck, abdominal muscles, and shoulders. Pregnancy also relaxes your ligaments, so that your pelvic joints are less stable, and changes your posture, pulling your pelvis forward. Add to that the extra weight you're carrying and you may find you've got an aching lower back.
A trained prenatal massage therapist knows where a pregnant woman's sore spots are likely to be and may be able to provide some relief. (She'll also know which areas and techniques to avoid.) Still, it's important to communicate with her and tell her where you need attention. Let her know right away if anything during the massage - including your positioning- is causing you any discomfort.
Deep Tissue Massage
$110.00 60 minutes - $115.00 90 minutes
Deep tissue massage is a type of massage therapy that focuses on realigning deeper layers of connective tissues and muscles.
It is especially helpful for chronically tense areas such as the low back, shoulders, and neck. Some of the same strokes are used as with Swedish massage therapy, but with deep tissue massage the movement is slower, with deeper pressure, and is directed specifically at areas of tension and pain.
Reflexology
Reflexology
$55.00 60 minutes
R eflexology is the practice of applying pressure to the feet and hands utilizing specific thumb, finger and hand techniques without the use of oil, cream or lotion based on a system of zones and reflex areas that reflect an image of the body on the feet and hands with a premise that such work effects a physical change in the body.
Reflexology works as the pressure techniques applied to the feet or hands interact as a part of the body's nervous system creating: relaxation, improved circulation, exercise of the nervous system and the benefits of touch.
BENEFITS OF DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE:
When there is chronic muscle tension or injury, there are usually adhesions (bands of painful, rigid tissue) in muscles, tendons, and ligaments.
Adhesions can block circulation and cause pain, limited movement, and inflammation.
Deep tissue massage works by physically breaking down these adhesions to relieve pain and restore normal movement. To do this, the massage therapist often uses direct deep pressure or friction applied across the grain of the muscles.

- Research has shown the specific techniques of reflexology to be effective and beneficial in many ways. A survey of 170 reflexology studies from 21 countries shows that reflexology is effective, impacting a variety of physical and psychological concerns.
- Creates relaxation: From the moment the reflexologist's hands start their work, the relaxation begins as shown in research using EEG brain activity. All together, 24 studies demonstrate reflexology's relaxation effects.
- Reduces pain: Pain reduction following reflexology work is documented in 27 studies including research showing impact on individuals of all ages and health states
- Ameliorates health concerns: Research shows that reflexology work helps indiviuals of all ages with some 78 health concerns ranging from aggressive behavior Ein children to urinary concerns of the elderly.
- Improves blood flow: Separate studies show that reflexology work increases blood flow to the feet, brain, kidneys and intestines.
- Aids post-operative recovery: Reflexology work aids recovery after surgery as shown by several studies, reducing pain and lessening the use of post operative analgesics.
- Impact on physiological measures (e. g. blood pressure and cholesterol; measurements by ECG, EEG, and fMRI)
- Enhances medical care: Reflexology helps where nothing else can for many: phantom limb pain sufferers, neuropathy patients, and hemodialysis patients to name a few.
- Benefits mental health: Research demonstrates that reflexology can reduce depression (11 studies) and anxiety (9 studies).
- Complements cancer care: Pain, nausea, vomiting, and/or anxiety eased for chemotherapy patients following reflexology work as shown by16 studies fom 7 countries.
- Eases pregnancy, delivery and post-partum effects: Women who received reflexology experienced shorter labor times and used less analgesia. In addition, reflexology showed a positive impact on postpartum depression, anxiety, urination and bowel movements.
In general terms, the benefits of reflexology have to do with the reduction of stress. Because the feet and hands help set the tension level for the rest of the body, they are an easy way to interrupt the stress signal and reset homeostasis, the body's equilibrium.
Other Masssages
Swedish
$70.00 60 minutes - $90.00 90 minutes
S wedish massage shortens recovery time from muscular strain by flushing the tissues of lactic acid, uric acid, and other metabolic wastes. It increases circulation without increasing heart load. It stretches the ligaments and tendons keeping them supple and pliable. Swedish Massage also stimulates the skin and nervous system while soothing the nerves at the same time. It reduces stress, both emotional and physical, and is recommended for one's regular stress management program.
Hot Stone
$90.00 60 minutes - $110.00 90 minutes
Hot stone massage is a specialty massage where the therapist uses smooth, heated stones, either as an extension of their own hands, or by placing them on the body while they massage other parts of the body. The heat can be both deeply relaxing and help warm up tight muscles so the therapist can work more deeply, more quickly.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage
$80.00 60 minutes
Manual lymph drainage massage (also called lymphatic drainage and lymph massage) is a form of very light massage that encourages lymph flow in the body. It is particularly good for detoxification, edema, pre- and post-plastic surgery and post-liposuction. It can also help with cellulite treatments, scar tissue, spider veins, redness and acne.
Back, Neck & Shoulders
$45.00 30 minutes
Full-body massage is just a way of saying that the therapist will massage your whole body during a therapeutic massage. This includes your back, neck, shoulders, arms, legs, feet and hands (and for men, pecs). Most massages at spas will be full-body massages.
Aromatherapy
$75.00 60 minutes
The power of essential oils is that they can do wonderful things -- lift your mood, help you calm down, clear your head, help you sleep. But you need to have high quality, therapeutic-grade essential oils to get the benefit. And it helps if a master aromatherapist has put together a blend of oils that work well together.
